Many of the decisions that shape our lives are made in rooms we never enter. A board votes on layoffs while we are at our desk. A committee decides on a policy while we are asleep. Somewhere a doctor reviews a scan, an admissions officer reads an application, a judge considers a file. A group of deacons or leaders meet and POOF there goes the pastor. We are not in the room but what is said in that room reaches us. Join us as we go to God's word in 2 Samuel 16:15-23 for our instruction and our encouragement.

Please turn in your Bible to 2 Samuel 16:1-14. One of the most painful experiences in life is discovering that someone you trusted was never as trustworthy as you believed. Someone you thought was a friend turns out to be a self-serving opportunist. Someone you expected to stand beside you disappears when trouble comes, and sometimes, the person who wounds you most deeply is not your enemy, but someone you welcomed into your circle.

Ancient prophecy finds its fulfillment in Jesus, who at the Last Supper took bread and the cup and declared that His body would be given and His blood poured out for the forgiveness of sins. The call is clear: believe the report, rest in the substitution, follow the silent Lamb, and come to the Table to remember the grace purchased by His wounds. Join us as we go to God's word in Isaiah 53: 1-6.
